Benefits of Data Release through QIR

  • Various data obtained through research activities can be made public, such as evidence data for papers, survey data, experimental data, analysis data, processing data, design data, sample data, and program codes.
  • JaLC DOI and DataCite DOI can be assigned to published data.
  • Any license such as Creative Commons License can be granted to published data.
  • Specify an arbitrary publication start date.
  • Standard metadata that conforms to the JPCOAR schema can be assigned.
  • Metadata will be distributed externally and included in various databases of the linked sites.
  • Data can be kept private, and only metadata can be made public.

Use Cases

  • The journal to which I submitted my paper has asked me to publish my evidence data. I don’t know where to publish the data.
  • A research funding agency has asked me to release my data. I have prepared the data, but I am not sure if it meets the conditions for data publication, such as contracts, laws, and practices of the research community.
  • I want to preserve the evidence data of the paper for a long period of time. If we are asked to disclose the data, we will respond to the request, but we cannot release the data to the public.
  • The image data and figure data published in the paper are too small to view. I would like to publish larger figures.
  • I would like to release supplementary data for my paper and include the DOI in the manuscript of my paper.
  • The data is ready, but we want to keep it private for a while. We would like to postpone the release of the data.
  • The data is ready. I would like to license the data so that researchers around the world can make use of it.
  • I have created so much data that I cannot analyze it all by myself. I would like the data to be analyzed by many people by putting it in a standard format and making it available to the public.
  • The data will be published on our own server. We would like to put a DOI on the data.
  • We have been publishing data on our own server, but have decided to discontinue operation. We are looking for a new place to publish the data.
  • We want to release data in accordance with the FAIR Principles. However, we do not know exactly how to do this.
