[QRDM] Long-Term Storage Area to Become Available (Applications Open from June 30, 2025)

Kyushu University’s research data management storage system, QRDM, has been expanded with an additional 2PB of long-term storage capacity.

This new area is designed for the secure preservation of large-scale or sensitive research data. Using Hierarchical Storage Management (HSM) technology, data will ultimately be stored in cold storage (magnetic tape) for long-term retention.

Availability

From Monday, June 30, 2025, at 9:00 AM (JST)

Applications will be accepted for the following purpose:

Preservation of large-scale or sensitive research data

※ The long-term storage area is also planned to support data preservation after retirement. Details will be announced separately once the operational schedule is finalized.

The QRDM system utilizes NextCloud as its operational software. A version upgrade of NextCloud will be carried out during the above time period.

Please note that QRDM will be unavailable during the maintenance hours (9:00 AM – 5:30 PM).
